Sheetal Devi began her athletic career in November 2022 with the Junior National Archery Championship, where she competed against able-bodied athletes. She then competed in the Khelo India Nationals and the Women’s Khelo India Games, where she did well. She made her international debut in May 2023, winning two silver medals and a bronze medal at a para event in the Czech Republic. Sheetal competed at the Para Archery Championship 2023 two months later. She finished fourth in the compound women’s qualifying round on the first day of the event, collecting just eight points fewer than her fellow countrywoman, Sarita.

Surprisingly, the couple also achieved a new world record in the doubles event. In the semifinal, the amateur athlete outpaced her compatriot Sarita, gaining her position in the final with a 137-133 victory. Sheetal is the first female armless archer to compete in the world championships.
