She subsequently went on to City University to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism. Izundu then worked on the entertainment news unit of Virgin Radio. She also worked as a freelancer for Sky News and ITN before returning to the BBC as a reporter for BBC Radio 1Xtra. Izundu also hosted TXU, a two-hour news magazine show, and was the entertainment host of Trevor Nelson’s breakfast show.
She later joined BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat entertainment reporting unit, where she broke a series of important stories, including a week-long probe on the ticketing industry that helped Newsbeat win a Sony Gold award.
