In March 2015, police attended to an alleged assault by Lloyd on his mother, Lisa Riley. Riley told the Indianapolis Metro Police Department that Lloyd arrived at his house and began verbally harassing her. He then physically attacked her, but he refused to pursue charges, revealing that Lloyd had schizophrenia and was not taking his medicine at the time.
Lloyd was arrested in South Carolina on June 17, 2015, under the name Jake Broadbent for reckless driving, driving without a license, and resisting arrest. He refused to stop at a red light, prompting police to follow him at high speeds. At a hearing on June 22, his bail was set at $10,700. Lloyd’s mother told TMZ on June 23 that he has schizophrenia and that “the family plans to try to help him again after he is released from prison”.
Lloyd was moved from the Colleton County Detention Centre to a mental hospital in April 2016, after being confined there for ten months while awaiting trial.
