Kavira Mwangaza was born in the year 1973. Her mother raised her when her father died when she was a child. The politician worked various jobs around town to assist her mother in caring for herself and her young children. At the age of fourteen, the politician dropped out of high school to work as a domestic worker. Because her family was impoverished, she was forced to work as a domestic helper for nearly a year.
In 2012, Bishop Kawira attended Meru University. Makerere University in Uganda awarded him a Certificate in Human Resource Management. Mwangaza has a Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Kampala International University in Uganda. She studied for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education at Moyale Girls’ Secondary School from 1989 to 1992. From 1981 to 1988, Kawira attended CCM Ontulili Primary School.
Career
Mwangaza became interested in politics in 2013 and sought unsuccessfully for a seat in Parliament. Governor Kawira has served Kenya in a variety of political and humanitarian capacities. She is a grassroots activist who has spearheaded several individual social improvement initiatives.
Among other things, she pioneered the groundbreaking initiative Okolia Kana ka Miru. She ran unsuccessfully for the Buuri Constituency parliamentary seat in 2013. Following the 2017 general elections, Kawira was elected as Meru County’s first female lawmaker. She was a member of the House Committee on Business.
Kawira Mwangaza was on the departmental committee for communication, innovation, and information in 2017. She served Meru County successfully in Parliament and held positions of responsibility in several government agencies. Mwangaza worked as a cake baker before becoming a full-time politician. It was a success, and new branches began to sprout throughout the Upper East. She established BAT TV, the first Kimeru television station.
