Career
Nina Singh IPS was assigned to the Manipur cadre on August 21, 1989. She went on to handle a variety of positions in the Manipur cadre. She was then shifted to the Rajasthan cadre, making her the first woman IPS officer to be assigned to the Rajasthan cadre. As secretary of the Rajasthan State Women’s Commission in 2000, she launched a unique outreach effort. This initiative attempted to help women in trouble by conducting hearings in several areas and giving them a venue to express their concerns. She has held many significant positions in Rajasthan, including Additional Director General (Training) and Director General of Civil Rights and Anti-Human Trafficking.
Nina was sent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2013, where she worked on high-profile cases such as the Sheena Bora murder case, the PNB Scam case, the Nirav Modi case, and the Jiah Khan suicide case. She worked with the CBI till 2018. During the COVID-19 epidemic, she was appointed Principal Secretary (Health) in Rajasthan. She was thereafter named Special Director General of the CISF. She became the CISF’s Director General (DG) on December 28, 2023.
Nina was named director general of the CISF on December 29, 2023, making her the first woman to lead this vital core paramilitary unit. She will maintain this position until her retirement on July 31, 2024.
