From 1966 to 1969, Radu was the winner of three of the world’s most famous piano competitions: the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition, and the George Enescu International Piano Competition. From 1970 through 1993, he made over 20 records for Decca Records.
Radu also recorded Mozart and Schubert compositions for piano and two pianos for CBS Masterworks with Murray Perahia, piano four-hands with Daniel Barenboim for Teldec, and Schubert Songs with Barbara Hendrix for EMI. Schubert worked on it. He was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 1996 and won one for an album of two Schubert piano sonatas.
